I think this one is hinting at some kind of natural underlying order. Both natural and artificial. Yet when we say artificial we make the leap that we humans are somehow separate from nature. This perceived separateness might be a function of both our meta-cognition and our technology. However fundamentally I think believing we are so separate is a mistake. If we were to rediscover our underlying unity with the natural world and it’s inherent order we’d not only be more in tune, we’d do less harm and we might also discover some things about ourselves. For example the structure illustrated here on the right that is so clearly man made is almost certainly a product of our left brain dominant mode of being which for the most part goes completely unquestioned.
This effect of being distant from nature blinds us to it’s forces in us, we think we are doing it. Then we stumble and get out of sync. Is it possible to get out of our own ways and let nature act through us? Or more precisely simply to let nature be and trust we are a part of that? I believe if we trust in the underlying order of nature – an order we can’t always see – then our actions become aligned with something far greater than us and even what we can perceive. How might this affect our being and what we bring into the world?
