This design was born out of a need for a simple to manufacture chair that incorporated my interest and passion for steam bending. This combined with an exploration of natural materials for the seat made up for a fulfilling design process. The chairs ergonomics fit dining where posture is gently supported by the curved backrest. The ilala palm woven seat was an outcome of my Zimbabwean context however overseas production could use Danish cord or hemp webbing.
