This tables form is quite familiar. I haven’t done much here but arrange and proportion the elements whilst keeping practical considerations in mind. The introduction of the bottom rails means light proportions are possible whilst still keeping the structure rigid. This necessitated the inset of the side rails to allow for leg room on the ends. My goal here was to reach a harmonious resolution – isn’t that always the goal? This prototype is made from Eucalyptus Cloeziana which unfortunately is now quite hard to come by. It is finished with a natural oil and wax finish.
